Course Aims
The main aim of the module is to provide a strong background in total quality management, economic and technological knowledge and how to apply them in the agri-food sector in order to solve problems of adjusting the quality of food to the consumer needs (legislator) and how to assure quality and consistency of products on the market. This module deals with quality as a foundation for achieving and sustaining competitive strength based on market differentiation and efficiency advancement of business in general. This will be achieved by improving levels of organisation, information flow and reduction of all kinds of waste (including waste of time). “Outer” quality characteristics (efficiency of production process, marketing and environmental impact) usually ignored in practices, will be covered by this course and applied for faster sector development.
